Let's see how it works...
HOW IT WORKS
Fractional ablative CO2 laser resurfacing is a skin treatment that uses a special laser to improve the texture and appearance of the skin. Here's how it works:

-
Laser Energy: The CO2 laser sends short pulses of energy to the skin. These pulses are very powerful, but the laser is designed to treat only a fraction of the skin at a time, leaving small areas of healthy skin in between. This "fractional" approach helps the skin heal faster.
-
Ablation: The laser energy removes tiny columns of skin. This is called "ablative" because it vaporizes or removes old, damaged skin cells. This helps to reduce wrinkles, sun damage, scars, and other skin imperfections.
-
Healing and Regeneration: As the damaged skin is removed, the healthy skin around the treated areas begins to heal and regenerate. The skin creates new collagen, a protein that makes the skin firm and youthful.
-
Benefits: Over time, this process smooths out fine lines, reduces pigmentation spots, and improves skin texture. The result is smoother, clearer, and more youthful-looking skin.

In summary, fractional ablative CO2 laser resurfacing treats the skin by removing damaged layers, stimulating new skin growth, and improving skin tone and texture.

A patch test is required 1 week prior to treatment and some skin concerns (such as pitted acne scarring) may require 3 to 5 sessions, this can be discussed at your consultation. Please allow up to 10 days downtime, as lots of tiny pinhead scabs form in the treatment area, which cannot be tampered with and need to be kept clean with a strict aftercare routine.
